Can you walk there from here? Measuring your town’s walkability.

Can you and your family walk or bike to the places that are most important to your daily lives?  We can’t.  We live on a cul-de-sac in the suburbs and it still takes a half-mile just to get to the main street.  Although our great little town of Suwanee, Georgia, is getting greener and working hard to protect green space and build mixed-use developments, it still requires a motor vehicle to get most places. (My home has a 38 out of 100 walkability score; the Suwanee average is 40).

Check out your score and more information on walkable neighborhoods and walkability, here.  Type in your address and get your score and a lot of related information.  Pretty cool site.
